About the Author:
Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche, a revered teacher and author in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, is the Head Lama of the Tibetan Nyingmapa Meditation Center. Born in 1935 in eastern Tibet, Rinpoche studied under some of the greatest Tibetan Buddhist masters of the twentieth century. After leaving Tibet, he taught at Sanskrit University in Varanasi, India, and set up one of the first printing presses for sacred Tibetan texts. As the first lama of the Nyingma lineage to establish residence in the United States, Rinpoche created a network of organizations dedicated to preserving and sharing the ancient teachings of Buddhism with the modern world.
